Rakhi Sawant life

Rakhi Sawant is an Indian model, and B Grade actress. She is a daughter of a Mumbai policeman and she is popular as an item girl and sex symbol. Sawant is prominent in the Indian media for being a loud mouth and for her controversial personal life.

Rakhi started her career as a bar dancer. Hailing from a poor family, she has had only a few years of formal education. She is the sister of Rakesh Sawant who is currently making his directorial debut. Famous for her voluptuous physique (38D-26-36 according to Stardust magazine), she is known to have removed her silicon breast implants recently.

She is currently dating Abhishek Awasthi, with whom she participated in Nach Baliye 3 only to lose out to another favorite couple, Amir Ali and Sanjida. Awasthi was a contestant in the popular Zee show, India's Best. She is the life member of International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy Of Film & Television.

When Rakhi Sawant was in Bigg Boss's house, she apparently wanted her mother Jaya Sawant to move out of the flat they share. In the first week of March, Jaya shifted in with her son Rakesh at his MHADA flat.

Controversy

Rakhi has attracted a great deal of attention by appearing on stage and screen in revealing outfits. In May 2006, she was booked for obscenity by the TN Police, after a stage show in the city. She was let off with a warning and a quickie. A month later, she was again in the news when she filed a molestation case against pop singer Mika Mehndi, younger brother of Daler Mehndi, who kissed her forcibly at his birthday party, where she was a guest. She made waves in Bigg Boss, a Sony television show.

She was regularly ridiculed on the show Koffee With Karan but recently appeared in an episode of the show. She also got the award for being Karan's favorite guest. She has apparently got rid of her silicone implants for the upcoming dance show Nach Baliye 3.
As part of a Lions Club campaign, Rakhi was the celebrity guest at a function in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail. She was to distribute blankets, computers and condoms to the inmates but the jail authorities pulled out the rulebook and said that she cannot enter the jail premises. The authorities reasoned that they would not be able to control the inmates if she was allowed in. This made Rakhi upset as she claimed that she had the necessary permission to go enter the jail. But her plea fell on deaf ears and Rakhi's request was turned down.

She has participated in reality television shows Bigg Boss and Nach Baliye 3 and was popular among viewers, but did not manage to win. She has alleged cheating in her not winning the Nach Baliye 3 show, but the organisers have denied the allegation. Despite being in industry for almost 10 years Rakhi is not known for any memorable role or achievement.

Filmography

Apart from her appearance on the silver screen, has also appeared in a number of music videos, most notably for the remix number Pardesiya. In 2006, she was a cast member of reality show Bigg Boss, the Indian version of Big Brother. She was voted off the show by fellow cast members after a month who dubbed her the "Fuggliest thing to hit TV" , but has been brought back and was one of the final 4 participants. She also lost the grand finale in Nach Baliye3.

She is fluent in English, Hindi, Marathi, Sindhi and Gujarati. In 1999 she won the prestigious title of Miss India Worldwide. She debuted in a Hindi movie Lajja.

Zeenat Aman was born to a Muslim father and a Hindu mother. Amanullah, her father was one of the writers for the movie Mughal-e-Azam and he died when Zeenat was just 13. Aman graduated from St. Xavier's School in Mumbai and went to Los Angeles for her studies. Upon returning to India, she first took a job as a journalist for Femina and then later on moved on to modeling. She was the second runner up in the Miss India Contest and went on to win the Miss Asia Pacific in 1970. She was considered a sex symbol during the 70s.

(Hindi: मल्लिका शेरावत, born October 24, 1981 as Reema Lamba in Rohtak, Haryana, India) is a popular Indian actress and model. Known for her public openness, she is frequently featured in the Indian media as a sex symbol.

She worked as an air hostess prior to entering films and it was around this time that she married a pilot, Karan Singh Gill. They are now divorced.

Sherawat's birth name is Reema Lamba; she says that adopted the screen name of "Mallika", meaning "empress" to avoid confusion with other actresses named Reema. "Sherawat" is her mother's maiden name. She has stated that she uses her mother's maiden name because of all the support her mother has provided for her. There is also a controversy regarding her age. A news channel in India had alleged that she was already a graduate before starting to work as an airhostess and hence she can't be as young as she claims. She has also a degree in philosophy from Miranda House, Delhi University.

Mallika's onscreen debut was in Lak Tunoo, a music video by Surjit Bindrakhia. She attracted wide notice with her appearance in the 2003 movie Khwahish. By Indian standarts the movie was quite racy, however it was known for its naturalistic and realistic topic. In 2004, she starred in Murder, a film inspired by Hollywood's Unfaithful that again challenged Indian film standards. She received a nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards ceremony for her performance in Murder. The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.

Since then, Sherawat has been known for her courage to express her opinions in public, and went on to make headlines through her outfits and blunt statements.

She also made news when she won a small role in a Jackie Chan movie, The Myth, where she again appeared in revealing costumes. She made a widely publicized appearance at the Cannes Film Festival to promote The Myth.

Since her debut, Mallika was often accused of simply being a sexy woman without talent. However, her performance in the 2006 film Pyaar Ke Side Effects co-starring Rahul Bose won her praise from around the industry, and the film also garnered decent collections. Mallika herself has protested, saying that it is a negative role but not a vamp role. With Aap Ka Suroor she has become the most expensive "Item Girl", as she charged Rs. 1.5 crore for her Item number in the movie.
